Getting Started
Welcome to MyTASystem!
It’s easy to get started — just follow the steps below to set up your site, instructors, and payouts so you can begin scheduling and selling classes right away.
Tip: Before you begin, take a moment view the video to the right and read our FAQs
Set Up Payments & Payouts
Help Us Help You Get Paid! To receive payouts and keep your subscription active, you’ll need to complete two quick setup steps.
1. Connect Your Stripe Payout Account
MyTASystem uses Stripe Connect to handle all payouts securely and efficiently. This account allows us to transfer money you earn from class registrations and product sales directly to you. Setup only takes a few minutes — click below when you’re ready to connect your Stripe Express Account.
After setup, you can review or update your payout account at any time through your Stripe account.
Note: Around this same time, you’ll receive an email from Amazon Web Services (AWS) asking you to verify your email address. Be sure to click the confirmation link (check junk/spam if needed). This step confirms your email for future notifications and ensures messages can be sent from your address.
2. Add a Payment Method for Your Subscription
Add or update the credit card used for your MyTASystem subscription. Trial accounts can explore the system freely, but payouts are only issued once a paid subscription is active.
Note: Payouts include funds from your customer purchases, minus Stripe’s processing fees and MyTASystem’s platform fees.
Tip: Trial accounts are automatically set to the Business Level, giving you access to all features of MyTASystem during your trial. Before your trial ends, review your subscription level if you have a credit card on file to ensure you’re not billed for features you don’t need.
Create Your First Class
Ready to start scheduling? Just follow these quick steps:
- Choose or Add a Course Type
Each class is based on a course (e.g., CPR / AED, BLS). Your account includes starter course types, or you can add your own under Courses > Course Types > Add Course Type. - Add a Location
Locations define where or how your class is held — in person or online. Add one under Sites and Locations > Location List > Add Location before creating your class. - Add Instructors (If Needed)
You’re already listed as an instructor. Add others under Instructors > Add Instructor if your organization has multiple trainers.
Note: The ability to add additional instructors is available in Basic and Business level subscriptions. - Create Your Class
Click the MyTASystem logo in the top-left or go to Courses > Class Scheduler. Select a course type, location, and instructor. To edit later, click the pencil icon next to the class name.
Tip: Watch the “Getting Started” video for a quick walkthrough of these steps.
Automate and Personalize Your Email Communications
Keep students, instructors, and clients informed — and stay connected with your customers long after their class ends.
- Customize Email Templates for confirmations, reminders, and follow-ups.
- Set up automated Campaigns that send messages before or after an event — perfect for certification reminders or renewal notices.
Verify Your Email with AWS
If you haven’t already verified your email address from the earlier setup step, be sure to do so now. Click the link in the AWS verification email (check junk/spam if needed) to confirm your address. This enables MyTASystem to send all automated messages through AWS Simple Email Service (SES) using your email identity.
All messages — including automated campaigns — are logged in your Message Log, where you can view, track, or resend messages if needed.
Tip: Automating your communications helps you retain students, grow repeat business, and keep certifications up to date effortlessly.
Add Products & Organize Your Storefront
Create and manage the Products you want to offer to your customers — such as student manuals, certification cards, or course materials.
- Sell directly through your storefront, or
- Link products to specific course types so they appear as add-on options during student registration.
Use product Catalogs to group related items — for example, CPR Course Materials or Instructor Supplies. Catalogs make it easy for customers to find what they need and give your storefront a clean, professional look.
Customize Your Site and Manage Files
Your Settings area is where you can tailor how your site looks, feels, and functions — from branding and checkout options to file management and embedded class listings.
- File Manager — Store and organize files such as images, documents, and forms. Files added here can also be linked directly to other records — for example, product images, class materials, or course documents.
- Cart Configuration — Customize your checkout process. Add handling or setup fees, pass fees to buyers, or adjust button and label text. You can also override the statement descriptor that appears on customers’ credit card statements to help prevent charge disputes.
- Embed Scripts — Create and manage scripts that display class listings on your own website. Each script can include filters (by course type, location, etc.) so you can feature specific classes on different pages.
- Forms (Basic & Business plans) — Add custom form fields to your class registration or checkout pages to collect extra information from students or clients.
- White Label Branding (Basic & Business plans) — Replace MyTASystem branding on registration and checkout pages with your own logo and color palette for a seamless customer experience.
